On Tuesday we went to our weekly playgroup outing. We went to a park on the island....not so great, but Emma and I headed over to the beach after that for some fun. First I got stuck in the sand. I was just about to completely have a melt down when a VERY nice man came to my rescue. He pulled me out and Emma and I headed off the sand and to the nearest parking lot! We parked and lugged out stuff out onto the sand. No more driving on the beach for me!! She had a blast playing in the waves and thought it was hilarious when they would knock her over. :)
On Wednesday we headed over to Portland for another playgroup outing at their aquatic center. It is a really great place especially for little ones. The pool has a beach entrance and slides....so much fun. Emma was not very well behaved though. She is very into doing what she wants when she wants to. Apparently she wanted to stand at the bottom of the slide and try to climb up. Unfortunately the lifeguard was not into that much less the other kids who wanted to slide down the slide. Needless to say it was a little embarrassing for Mommy to hang with a screaming child. I did manage to distract her for a little while in the big pool. She loved jumping off the side. She is even attempting to blow bubbles (this is so exciting for a swim teacher!) I couldn't get a picture of Emma in the water but here is what the pool looks like.
