Well it is a good thing we didn't go to The Woodlands. I am sure they are beginning to feel the wind from Ike as I type this. Poor Galveston and Houston....YIKES! Although I am glad the storm did not come here, I am also worried about my family and friends in Houston. At least they don't live really close to the coast like we do.
On Wednesday, Emma had her rain boots on all ready to take on Ike! (She looks so mean but this was her smile! Can't help but laugh....such a silly girl!)
Here are some pictures of our house all boarded up. Of coarse now that Ike is not coming here we feel pretty stupid being all boarded up and are not looking forward to taking them down! Oh well better safe then sorry.
We headed out to the island on Thursday evening to check out the water. Apparently we were not the only people with this idea. The water was coming up almost all the way to the road/boardwalk. The waves were huge! There were surfers and kite surfers out there and even a skateboard surfer in the closed parking lot. Emma had a blast running up and down the boardwalk!
Looks like we are not he only ones heading to the beach!

We saw this floating out in the water....it must have come loose from something. :)
The video is a little bouncy and windy but Emma was having a ball running up and down the boardwalk in her running shoes! It was too cute.
