We are glad that Ike didn't come to CC as I am sure our house would have plenty of water in it if we had been hit head on like Galveston did. But we are sure unhappy that it had to hit anywhere and cause so much damage in Galveston and Houston. All of our family in The Woodlands stayed and all have been without power up until today. Of coarse my parents don't have power yet though. Ike made a big old mess in The Woodlands with down trees and debris everywhere. Ryan left Saturday afternoon to head to The Woodlands with two generators in tow, gas and supplies to help with the clean up and survival for those without power. He was the hero showing up with a generator for both sets of parents and helping friends and family clean up after the storm. Of coarse my weather man of a husband is really bummed he couldn't be in The Woodlands to go through the storm but I am glad he was right here with Emma and I in Corpus!
Emma had her first day of Mother's Day Out yesterday and absolutely LOVED it. They said she would not nap but other than that she had a great day! She didn't want to leave when I came to pick her up. :) Here are a few pictures of our girl with her backpack! All ready to go.
This is my child's wonderful smile.....so cute huh!
Her backpack says "Emma"
Then this morning it was our first day of Kindermusik. She was not very well behaved....I think because she missed a nap yesterday?? Anyway she finally got into it and then she wanted to sit and do the last activity with another mommy! I almost cried! She didn't want anything to do with me! Hopefully she will do better next week and actually enjoy singing and making music with her OWN Mommy!
We have Aunt Camille here due to Ike. She came back with Ryan on Monday to escape no lights or ac. She and Emma are having a ball together! It is too cute. She has even offered to stay with Emma tonight so Ryan and I can have a date night. :)
We also have Bailey (Mom and Pop Gratland's dog) and Tomasina (Aunt Camille's cat) staying with us too. Things are pretty crazy here!
My job has become a little overwhelming this week with so many of my mentors dealing with Ike. I have managed to figure most things out on my own and feel like I am making progress and understanding most questions that parents ask. Hopefully all my families in Houston will be back up and running soon so they can get started! :) But I really like the program. I think TXVA is a great fit for me and I am looking forward to settling into my routine.

Man you're a good daughter and good daughter-in-law!!!!
