Spring Break in Montana

We had a great trip to Montana. It was Emma's first time to walk in the snow, sled and throw snowballs. We really enjoyed being with our niece Catherine. Emma thought her cousin was pretty cool. We spent lots of time in the snow, eating yummy meals with Kimberly, Creighton and Catherine. A big highlight was attending Kimberly's opera performance in Verdi's Requiem. Click on the link below to see the review... bravo Sis!

Here we are playing at the park behind K, C and C's house.
Emma and Catherine swinging together... too cute!

While waiting for our table to eat breakfast, we made a quick run into Ace Hardware. They had a popcorn machine. Here are the cuties with their bags of pop corn... yummy breakfast girls!

Here is our first day in the snow. We drove up above K, C and C's house until we found some snow.... pulled over and had some fun.

I love this picture... Emma wants to be just like her cousin Catherine.
Backstage after K's performance. Ryan and I absolutely loved this piece. Kimberly looked and sounded beautiful!

We woke up to lots of snow!! Even in the valley, which doesn't happen as often as you would think. So Ryan, Emma and I headed up LoLo to find a good place to sled. Emma was very excited to push the sled down the little hill we found but was not too interested in actually sledding. We didn't get to stay too long due to Emma now wanting to keep her gloves on...brrrr cold!
Here is K, C and C's house! Beautiful in white!
Ryan, Emma, Catherine and I left Kimberly and Creighton to work and headed out to Lake Flathead. It is a beautiful lake. I enjoyed being able to see it in the winter verses the summer. Most of the lake was frozen and the girls had a blast throwing rocks onto the ice. The only miss hap was when we stopped to get something to drink. I was looking for a water bottle that had a sports top for the girls. Well, the didn't have any but I did see this cute little bottle with the sports top called Bug Juice. It was grape flavored. Of course I grabbed that and we were on our way. Well apparently it has quit a bit of sugar in it....ooopppss! Emma and Catherine were going crazy in the back seat. Laughing hysterically at each other. It was pretty funny and I was so glad once that wore off! Needless to say, I will not be buying bug juice any time soon.

This was the only shot I had that showed off Emma's cute St. Patty's day shirt.
For our last full day, we headed back to LoLo with both girls in tow for some more sledding. We went to boarder of Idaho and Montana (were we should have gone last time). Wow did we find some snow! We played and played there. Emma was not too into sledding but loved sliding down the roof of the information center that was covered in snow. We had a really fun snow ball fight too. It was a wonderful day and one that I know Ryan and I will cherish as a very special memory.
